Dan Wilson Announces Candidacy for Kootenai County Sheriff 2024 In Race Against Norris
Dan Wilson announces his candidacy on December 6, 2023, with plans to continue community events until the primary election in May 2024
Long time community local Dan Wilson announced his entrance into the race for Kootenai County Sheriff in 2024. While it is not common to challenge an incumbent, Dan and his team believe they are running a solid campaign with a list of important priorities.
As part of the question-and-answer session at the announcement rally, Dan stated that, “We had a great chance in 2020 to see what the enemy is doing. We knew what was going to be coming and while there are so many facets to running a county as a sheriff, and a lot of very important jobs, and things to address, we also have to be forecasting that vision of looking ahead to see what’s coming down the road and what we have to be prepared for. And we have not been doing that. We’re reactionary, not proactive and we all know that action beats reaction, every time.”
In his list of priorities, Dan has vowed to be the man to uphold our rights to life, liberty, and property, and will vigilantly continue in this mission throughout his terms of office as sheriff of Kootenai County.
Dan has given thousands of hours back to his community serving for 12 years as a commissioned, reserve police officer from 2011 to 2023 in the greater Spokane area. He has also been a successful commercial general contractor and commercial casework contractor for 25 years.
