Power Player Pastors of Kootenai County Episode 05

Power Player Pastors of Kootenai County Episode 05

Co-hosts Dan and Dawna Wilson

Episode five in a series of podcasts covering the Power Player Pastors of Kootenai County.

“Of course we would wonder why north Idaho was the recipient of two left coast and right coast hacks who both came from corrupt areas of the country and now they’re involved in politics.”

For a year Dan Wilson ran in the race for Kootenai County Sheriff and while the numbers were not on his side, he is still the people’s sheriff. People from all over this county, the region, and nationally, have been inspired by the message of Liberty Without Compromise and have been inspired by a man who has been willing to fight fire with fire. AND there is unfinished business.

We are going in-depth to uncover what’s going on in the largest most influential churches in Coeur d’Alene. Have these pastors crossed political lines? Are they politically involved where they shouldn’t be and in violation of their 501c3 non-profit status? Are they king-makers? Who is advising them? Anyone looking for political power and control in Kootenai County knew that controlling the church was a must and it appears they have done just that.

In this episode, verbatim transcripts are read revealing that a former DHS agent played a primary role in the meeting with a local pastor and one of his parishioners who had concerns regarding the sheriff’s race in Kootenai County. This same former federal agent has local, ties to the church, the GOP, resiliency groups and the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office. The former fed functions as a red herring in the conversation, talking about irrelevant facts to avoid addressing the parishioner’s main points. The red herring manipulation tactic is designed to distract a person from the core issue by bringing up unrelated information, making it harder to focus on the real topic at hand. This type of manipulation is used to create distraction and divert attention away from the critical point of discussion. It is also used to misdirect by introducing what seems to be important but irrelevant information. The former fed dominates all throughout the meeting by manipulating and attempting to mislead the parishioner.

Some of the points of manipulation include:

  • Justifying the unholy relationship between Sheriff Bob Norris and Kootenai County Commissioner Bruce Mattare, forcing the church parishioner to demonstrate why the relationship between these two elected officials is “suspicious”
  • Defending budget increases for the Sheriff’s office
  • Defending the Sheriff’s helicopter program which is tied into a questionable non-profit and cannot prove adequate insurance coverage
